WATCH THIS : Girl Model Documentary airs

I am really interested in seeing this. It's a documentary which highlights the age at which young girls start modeling and how the industry treats them at the start of their career.

I couldn't get my hands on anything more then the trailer but its so sad to see the girls being treated like meat and also there is a part where one of the models has to lie to say she is 15 instead of 13. That's insane.

Recently there has been a lot of noise about underage models as the CDFA tries desperately to get underage models off the runway at New York Fashion Week. The reason for this being that the demands of the industry during this time are often too much for underage girls, the hours are too long and often it can take a good month to prepare for a show between fittings and run throughs which takes them out of school and away from their studies - not to mention that I am not sure how good it is for impressionable teenagers to be around the intense modelling industry with all its issues......

It has also become an issue as Marc Jacobs has started a serious debate over the use of underage models in his show. He hired two fourteen year old girls - knowingly- to walk in his recent show. He also became the subject of a tumblr debate as one model wrote about her experiences working for the designer, who paid her in clothing and kept her longer then she is legally allowed to work. Jacobs later tweeted a response but too little, too late.
